IS THIS THE BEST WE CAN DO!? LOL

IS THIS THE BEST WE CAN DO?

Definitions LIKE :::

“Reliability does not imply validity. That is, a reliable measure that is measuring something consistently is not necessarily measuring what you want to be measuring. For example, while there are many reliable tests of specific abilities, not all of them would be valid for predicting, say, job performance. In terms of accuracy and precision, reliability is a useful way of describing precision, while validity is used to describe accuracy”

^**^ WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? Lol

This is not the language Anyone beyond a single digit iQ should allow to be applied to them, or hold anyone to the validity considering the verbal vomit of interpretation variance it has.
You don’t believe me?

Chime in !!!! No!!! I’ll explain (RANT)

I’m starting to understand why people do not speak much anymore. As I research into defining a lot of this goofy language its becoming very clear that we ought to consider a complete and total destruction of it and form a new one. All literary material and dictionaries should be burned and outlawed. lol

Here is one example:

When someone would like to chime in to your conversation. Usually they politely ask if the may chime in.

Just more proof that people have no idea what they are saying!! This is not a big deal to anyone else because they themselves don’t know what is being said to them.

I’ll admit that I never knew what “chime in” meant, but I also never would say that or anything else that I do not have a least a general understanding.

My way of saying this would be direct. If I was politely asking- It would be “I’m sorry to interrupt, do mind if I join in this conversation?”

If being rude – it would be “Sorry, I have to stop you right now and tell you ….”

get the point?  Well take a look and realize that “chime” is actually irritating and offensive by definition lol

So, I found a better alternative to “chime”.

TONE LOL

LOOK AT THE DEFINITIONS AND YOU DECIDE.

CHIME
verb
1 the bells began to chime: ring, peal, toll, sound; ding, dong, clang, boom, bong; literary knell.
2 the clock chimed eight o’clock: strike, sound.
noun
the chime of the bells: peal, pealing, ringing, carillon, toll, tolling; ding-dong, clanging, tintinnabulation; literary knell.
PHRASES
chime in “Yes, you do that,” Doreen chimed in: interject, interpose, interrupt, butt in, cut in, join in.

NOW DOESN’T THIS SOUND LIKE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO CHIME?

TONE
noun
1 the tone of the tuba: timbre, sound, sound quality, voice, voice quality, color, tonality.
2 the somewhat impatient tone of his letter: mood, air, spirit, feel, sound, flavor, note, attitude, character, nature, manner, temper; tenor, vein, drift, gist.
3 a dial tone: note, signal, beep, bleep.
4 tones of burgundy and firebrick red: shade, color, hue, tint, tinge.
PHRASES
tone down the pastels in the upholstery will help to tone down the color scheme: soften, lighten, mute, subdue, mellow; moderate, modify, modulate, mitigate, temper, dampen.

IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING (REALLY?) RANT

SINCE IT NEVER DOES!

It is time that someone confront this very commonly used phrase. The phrase “it goes without saying” needs to be spoken about. Well, if it wasn’t for me this would continue on in lingual limbo. It is very common for someone to use the phrase “it goes without saying” and following it with an explanation or reason to justify why something that does not need to be said be spoken about. Listen! I’m trying my best to understand this language (my 1st), and write it properly. There is no need for these phrases to add to my confusion. If it “goes without saying” —— THAT SHOULD BE THE END OF THE STATEMENT, NO?!?!?!?

LET ME ADD TO THE LIST OF SAYINGS THAT ARE FRUSTRATING

  • YOU HAVE NO IDEA –
  • YOU DIDN’T KNOW –
  • YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN –
  • WHAT DID YOU EXPECT –
  • YOU DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING –
  • IT SHOULD BE CLEAR BY NOW –
  • DO I REALLY NEED TO TELL YOU –
  • YOU’RE NOT GOING TO WANT TO HEAR THIS –
  • YOU CAN’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU –
  • YOU DIDN’T WANT TO LISTEN –
  • I TRIED TO TELL YOU –

I’LL START WITH THOSE!

LET ME PUT TOGETHER A LITTLE RANT ON THOSE SAYINGS- JUST FOR FUN!

DO I REALLY NEED TO TELL YOU? —  I guess I better, so YOU CAN’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU!

I wouldn’t want you to be in a position that YOU DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING

After I TRIED TO TELL YOU, I assumed it would be CLEAR BY NOW, maybe, YOU DIDN’T WANT TO LISTEN, OR ONLY HEARD WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR!

At first, I DIDN’T WANT TO BE THE ONE TO SAY, and even told you that you HAVE NO IDEA.

Knowing you WEREN’T GOING TO WANT TO HEAR THIS, I couldn’t leave this as something THAT GOES WITHOUT SAYING

I was not going to be responsible for an accusation later on saying YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME / WHY DIDN’T                YOU SAY SOMETHING

FOR CONSIDERATION-

IF YOU ASK – WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?, OR YOU DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING? YOU BETTER MAKE SURE YOU TOLD THEM WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW. EVEN IF THEY DIDN’T WANT TO LISTEN TO WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY. OR, decided to HEAR WHAT THEY WANTED TO HEAR. At least now you can say these with conviction  —

YOU CAN’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU

YOU DID’T WANT TO LISTEN

I TRIED TO TELL YOU

Another Rant On Language

OH HERE WE GO

Hopefully it is clear by now, my complete and absolute hatred of the language and words! This is not a result from being  uneducated(I think the colleges should reimburse us) but thats another topic!…..  Even my poor writing skills (openly admit and am aware of) can not be fully or mostly responsible for this…..

.HOW COULD ANYONE REALISTICALLY COMPREHEND THIS LANGUAGE? Is it only me and my limited literary skills that I find it completely ridiculous and aggravating that the meaning of words are (inconclusive) through definitions? Almost every word is defined by multiple words, each of the defining words have a somewhat different directional meaning themselves. It’s difficult enough for someone like me (with little or no writing skills) beyond psychology papers…. But, those were mostly constructed through precise and specific words created by the field of study and only need to use some “regular”  language  or words to connect/fill in. Also, we didn’t lose that many points at all for writing skills, grammar —– they only were interested in the content material and information.

You could almost say something like —— It is by the no way thank of thought to assume presumable no doubts  that prefrontal cortex function is directly involved in processing —  lol  YES MY UNDERLINE PORTION WAS MAYBE A LITTLE EXTREME OF EXAMPLE ( BUT AS LONG AS WHAT IS BOLD, AND THE ACTUAL INFORMATION IS OK, THAN SADLY THEY WOULDN’T CARE OR PENALIZE YOUR GRADE ENOUGH TO MAKE IT SEEM NECESSARY TO LEARN HOW TO WRITE PROPERLY)

Let me choose some words for example (not going to get into grammar , structure) Just a few words or statements

I’m going to try my best to “act naturally” (how can you be natural if your acting?)

Let me be clear that I’ll always try to provide “original copies” (copies- original? need i say more)

It is starting to get “pretty  ugly”

Simple——- is defined “understood, no difficulty” also defined as “abnormally low intelligence” So, something simple is understood without difficulty but, a simple mind might not be able to…..

Understood?  Just as long as you realize the definition of “understood” doesn’t mean “you get it” you may understand something, as long as you are aware that if you understand you don’t “know”—- because the definition of understanding something refers to you only perceiving — blah blah OK I’m done for now, before I get sick….. lol

My frustration with language! example

I’ve mentioned it before, but Its going to be mentioned again and again. I can not figure out how to write in a “scholarly way”, but more importantly in a comprehensible way. If it wasn’t for grammatical, or writing errors in my papers I would have had a 4.0 GPA while going for my Phd in psychology. In my opinion, I think that the very fact that psychology requires analyzation to details and meanings completely makes writing in the english language a torture method. There is almost no meaning or definitive meaning to any word. Even worse is writing things that are open to unlimited interpretations.

ONE EXAMPLE (I’m sure I’ll have more to come)

When I was trying to write the rant on “Hope and Pray” I wanted to look up the definition of HOPE before I wrote it. Not to my surprise, that lead me in a complete moment of “HUH?!?!?” As I’m going to show you, maybe you can start understanding my frustration with writing in words that can not decide on a meaning.

HOPE  – A feeling of EXPECTATION and desire for a certain thing to happen.

EXPECTATION – A strong BELIEF that something will happen

BELIEF  – An ACCEPTANCE TRUST CONFIDENCE IN SOMETHING OR SOMEONE BEING TRUE

ACCEPTANCE BELIEF IN SOMETHING  ^^^^^^^

SO——- If you believe its going to happen and expect it to happen, than why HOPE? I Always thought hope meant that you are wanting something to happen but are prepared that it might not.

Hence my joke on “Hope and Pray”…… If you “Hope” (expect) than you have no need to pray…..

Life is what you make of it (?)

Here is another example of stupid sayings that prove how enlightened we are. lol

“Your life is what you make of it”. ( I agree)

but than of course there has to be another commonly use phrase that ruins it

“You have to deal with what life has given you”

well?!?!?  Do you make the choices or do you just deal with what “hand you’ve been dealt” ?

lol again complete confusion people have.

AS LONG AS YOU GAVE IT YOUR BEST (RANT)

ENOUGH WITH THIS SOFT, UNOFFENSIVE, OVER CONCERNED, SITUATIONAL SENSITIVITY, and to make sure we apply CONSIDERATION and RESPECT when speaking of sensitive topics. * I made sure that I posted a warning on my front page so that no one would be surprised when I say “Fck That” Over sensitive, over concerned people worried that what they say might offend someone… STOP HIDING BEHIND WORDS OF MANIPULATION. If are worried about possibly offending someone than you already have just by the thought alone.

Here is one common saying that needs to be retired and never used again.

“As long as you gave it your best” in other words you lost or failed. Lets think about this for a second. I should attack the saying before going in depth about its overall impact. There is no other way than to start this off by pointing out this saying that is used as a supportive and comforting phrase to those who failed, is actually not supportive at all. It’s a straight out taunt and insult!!!!!!

If you really break it down the first thing that comes to me is that it is questioning or challenging you indirectly. “As long as” — is another way of saying “i just hope or I would think…”

So- as long as you gave it your best, is actually saying I’m assuming that you gave it your best. It’s not like your saying I know you gave it your best. The statement is straight out blah…… just another snap phrase preprogramed in your heads. No one has realized how snobby that phrase is… {{hmmmmm,, Well as long as you…..}} is so condescending as well as indicating no interest. Yea!!! You didn’t engage in conversation with that snap phrase. Instead of just default phrases, try and actually engage with the person, usually by asking a question of interest relevant to the situation.

Maybe ask them straight out “Do you think you gave it al you got, or were you off today?”

Now I want to point out the psychological impact that the “as long as” statement has. Consider that maybe they did give it all they had….. You have now rubbed in their face the fact that even at their best they still failed.

One last thing to consider about this saying that hopefully is never mentioned again. The very existence of this phrase promotes quitting and failure. Everyone can just drop out, quit, and give up knowing that they can just say “I gave it my best” lol

We are creating way too many losers…. They are not losers by default they are being raised in an environment that conditions them to accept being losers. There is no need to contribute to that cause.

Emergency Room (Part1) Getting There- Analytical Comedic Review

A quick note to everyone – I started typing this rant with intention of a single rant of the process from intake to discharge into the ER. Of course, it wasn’t that simple causing me to break it up. As you will see just getting to the ER contains enough to try and absorb.

***Apply a kind of sarcastic taunt tone while reading

Emergency Room (Part 1)

-Your having an {{emergency situation}} that requires {{immediate attention}}, so you go to the hospital emergency room. But, there are a few ways in which you arrive at the emergency room. I think we should go over these and be considerate and thankful that the medical establishment has gone through the trouble of reserving a section of the hospital along with assigned staff, procedure and more just for emergencies… But thats there-… You have to get there first!… You are not their responsibility until you are admitted there. There are some complexities as well as choices you need to make prior to getting to the E.R. so when and if you get there you better make sure you did so in a manner in which will increase your chances of getting the attention you need.

1)When you arrive to the hospital emergency room by ambulance. Usually this indicates the person…Oh sorry—(PATIENT) is likely, but not always, having a medical emergency. Sometimes the ambulance is bringing in the ones that “did’t make it” “Not responding to treatment” showing “no vitals” I have even heard the phrase “Non-…survivable…injuries” in other words …DEAD! I’s bad enough people are always in denial now we force paramedics too..
>>>> {{But wait just a minute}} they can not be labeled as dead NO NO NO not without proper authority and procedures authorizing them first. {{We wouldn’t want to wrongfully accuse a dead person of being dead until we are absolutely sure by getting authorized approval}} Apparently, dead people are racially profiled and discriminated and Dr’s are the only ones capable and authorized to make that {CALL} According to the medical view there is the layman’s definition for dead and a medical definition for dead… {{Listen, I’ve never disagreed on the stupidity of the general population but even a young child nows when something is dead. They notice the family goldfish floating in the bowl and say (Mommy another goldfish died) and have the ceremonial bathroom flushing of the dead. But for people it’s not as simple and unless that victim is decapitated, or showing {{dependent lividity/rigor mortis}} the paramedic is not authorized to call them dead! In other words a victim of car accident where the paramedics arrive and the person is not breathing or having a pulse they can not say they are dead because there may be a slim chance that medical intervention could bring them back to life. If thats the case wouldn’t the paramedic need to tell the Dr the patient is dead to indicate the required treatment of resurrection? On the other hand I find some comfort in knowing that diagnosis of death requires a second opinion. Way to complicated- forget the phrase “life after death” because its not looking appealing so far and should have a phrase “death after life” (I’ll have to make a separate post ranting on this) Lets get the living to the hospital first and just note to yourself that ambulance is not the way to go if your dead OK

Alright, now for a living (if reading the above chaos hasn’t killed you yet) your in route by means of ambulance, you get your own personal ride there, your own personal staff attending to your needs, loading you up with drugs, blasting the siren, flashing lights, breaking standard traffic laws with immunity, and vip access upon arrival at the ER. You have an entourage anxiously waiting for your arrival to zip you right in past the admittance staff and all the non-vip guests in the waiting room straight into the vip area of the ER where multiple staff is told to attend to you.
OR

2)You bring yourself there. {{If you brought yourself I highly doubt your experiencing a medical emergency}} That would explain them making you sit in the waiting room.
** If need be here is a way to cut the line and not have to sit in there with all these infected people. At intake one symptom you need to tell them is chest pain. Thats the guest list password to gain immediate access.

>>>> Think about that for second. A section of the hospital dedicated for emergency patients actually has a waiting room. I think it should be called the “Drama Detention Room” They are trying to educate or punish people to stop considering every little splinter, cut, bump on the head, a medical emergency. Listen people, little Billy falling off his bicycle and having a cut on his knee is not a medical emergency. Your over dramatizing and obsessive parenting is a psychological emergency- YOUR IN THE WRONG AREA… Than you wonder why the person on the other side of the room with a cut off finger in a lunch box packed on ice is giving you dirty looks. He unfortunately was accidentally misplaced by the admittance staff (bouncers).

Than you also wonder why once you finally get in you have to wait even longer to see a DR.
You really expect a Dr to give a shit about cuts, bruises, food poising, common colds, or any other insignificant reason your are taking up space in their emergency room without and emergency condition. HELL NO! They are waiting for the VIP or DOA (dead on arrival). Besides,
they have plenty of staff more than qualified to place a bandaid on your stubbed toe, or take your temperature. Even better, they keep you busy and increase revenue by conducting {{as many tests as possible}}. Let me clarify that or revise by saying they administer tests completely irrelevant in excess. Majority of them are immediately done once your in.. EKG, BP, Draw Blood, IV Fluids, Aspirin, Urine Sample, Skin Culture, Throat Culture all in a matter a minutes when all you needed was a few stitches on your hand. After the accumulated the initial abundance of billable tests than they go for trying to get some higher ticket items sold. Your cut on the had that needs 3 stitches is {{of course going to need an X-ray MRI. Oh and since you told them you vomited earlier that day you also need a chest X-ray to check for internal damage}} (Separate rant to continue this)

Bottom line….. Lets save the emergency room for actual emergencies and if so make sure you go the VIP way in an ambulance so long as your not dead!

*** Don’t forget there is much more on this!! So make sure you read them to get the whole rant part2 link http://wp.me/p53poC-2z

Parents take note

“As kids we are told two common statements being that we can be anything and have anything we set our minds to, as well as be happy with what you got. No wonder kids are so confused! If you want them to be happy with what they got (settle) than there is no motivation to try for more. At what point should they be happy with what they have?”****
****Have to clarify that quote so it’s not misunderstood
A simple change in wording can fix this. “You can be and achieve anything you set your mind to as long as you learn from failures, keep trying no matter what hurdles are in your way, no matter how much time it takes just as long as you don’t neglect to appreciate what and who you have in your life than there is no reason or excuse to not want more”
