When we talk about psychological disabilities I have a problem with that terminology. I like to refer to it as a psychological difference rather then a disability. The term disability implies that the person has a dysfunction or limitation in functioning. Whether you agree or not I think some of the greatest minds in history would’ve been labeled as having a psychological disability simply because their minds function differently than the majority. When someone says that I am crazy or my thoughts are not normal, I think that is a complement. This is because I have come to realize that the norm of thought is not a active process it all. The majority of people that is considered normal are semi-conscious simple-minded individuals that have little if any original thought processes. They usually function on preprogrammed subconscious behavior patterns and suffer from cognitive dissonance.
Regardless if the person who has a psychological difference may have a disability, that it is fair say that a normal person has a lack of ability.
PTSD GOES UNTREATED
While there are probably other conditions that are not properly treated, PTSD in my opinion is among the most. It’s not that they do not try, or have ill intentions. They just don’t know how to treat it properly. This is because they do not understand it on a professional or personal basis. The severity of this condition is much more then any literature can attempt to explain.
PTSD in my opinion and personal experience is one of the most misunderstood psychological conditions that remain for the most part untreated. PTSD is not a new condition, however, given the huge amount of veterans returning with this, it is not something that should or could be ignored.
There needs to be some FORMAL TREATMENT or protocol for ALL SERVICE MEMBERS following active duty. There should also be a professional that is trained and qualified to treat PTSD. In every other medical field the Dr. is trained in a specific field …. Podiatrist, Cardiologist, Neurologist, Dermatologist, Endocrinologist, and so on…….
WHY ARE MENTAL HEALTH CARE PRACTICERS NOT BOUND TO A SPECIFIC ??????
Without going into the extensive details of the neurological system and design, I just want to bring to attention a new way of thinking (no pun intended) when people refer to the term “Its either black or white” —– No No No!!
There are a lot of “GREY AREAS” Considering that Grey matter contains most of the brain’s neuronal cell bodies like regions of the brain involved in muscle control, and sensory perception such as seeing and hearing, memory, emotions, speech, decision making, and self-control.
SO—— THERE MIGHT BE SOME IMPORTANT GREY AREAS LOL
FIRST A LITTLE BORING SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND
Music and emotion
Music is capable of producing some of the strongest emotional reactions in humans, whether it’s joy, sadness, fear or nostalgia. It’s interesting to note than people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds will often agree on whether a piece of music sounds happy or sad – for this reason music is often considered the universal “language of emotions”.
The idea of music as language is more accurate than it might first seem. When we hear music, our brains are imposing structure and order on a number of distinct sounds so that we experience them as a whole. It’s a perceptual illusion that changes what we hear, much as we don’t “hear” spoken language as a series of vocalisations – instead, we hear the meaning of the words.
However, music is much more rooted in primitive brain structures than language – structures connected with motivation, reward and primal emotions. For instance, that urge to get your shake on on the dance floor is caused by neural oscillators synchronising with the pulse of the music,
causing us to unconsciously anticipate when the next beat will occur. When the beat falls, our brains give us a small ‘reward’ hit for anticipating it correctly.
There’s no strong scientific agreement on why music has such a powerful ability to conjure up the same images and feelings, even among different people with different memories. The appreciation of music involves a complex combination of the brain’s memory, language, auditory and emotional centres all working together – perhaps it’s simply this satisfying, harmonious brain-exercise that gives us the pleasure response.
TAKE A LOOK/LISTEN TO THESE EDIT VERSIONS OF MOVIES TRAILERS AND HOW DIFFERENT THEY ARE INTERPRETED …. !!!! KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN YOU WATCH THE “NEWS” OR ANYTHING YOU READ, HEAR, SEE ….
I am pretty sure that everybody can relate to this. Those phone calls, or discussions we really do not want to have, but can no longer evade. A lot of anxiety starts to build up as you get closer and closer to the time you need to make that call. This anxiety can be built up that day, week or sometimes even months prior! Your mind just keeps racing around and around in circles wishing for someway to avoid it. Once you get it over with, you are relieved, and at the same time you realize that the experience YOU had leading up to that moment was far worse than dealing with the actual situation.
Why is it that every time I’m trying to find something important I am continuously being sidetracked by things like this. I CANNOT BELIEVE WE ACTUALLY HAVE A STALKING AWARENESS MONTH… So apparently this observance is in January being the national stalking awareness month.
Have they made a card for this yet? lol It would be a nice gesture for stalkers to send a card to their victims once a year….haha Card would say something like “Hey there, Just wanted to write and let you know I’m watching you” or “Your so special that your not just always in my thoughts, your always in my line of sight” lol OH BOY
I’m not sure about the details that are included in this, and have no intention to read into it. Without knowing the details, I would like to know who they are bringing awareness to. Certainly the victims of stalking don’t need awareness, they already have enough attention. lol I’m sure this doesn’t awareness to a stalker who is preoccupied stalking.. lol
Anyway, since I am aware of this now, I felt the need to share this lol
DO YOU KNOW WHAT COMMON SENSE IS? OR, MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT IT IS NOT!
Are you aware that common sense is not a valid reference or even a reliable source to support to itself? This will definitely be confusing and difficult to comprehend even if I was able to describe it well.
Maybe it is a good thing that this described in a way without proper writing techniques….. Something like this is hard enough to understand to begin with, without me making it worse by trying to write properly.
So I’m just gonna write it how I think it. Your common sense is only what you have commonly accepted to be accurate, and excepted as true in the past. In no way is that permanent, or expected to be a permanent. It is only temporary beliefs formed by past experiences that have supported it. When new information is presented that may challenge these “common sense” beliefs, they should always be considered as a possible replacement for the old common sense!
FOR EXAMPLE- THIS WAS SOMETHING I HAVE JUST RECENTLY EXPERIENCED…….
—-MY ENTIRE LIFE I WAS UNDER THE BELIEF THAT COAL COULD BE TURNED INTO A DIAMOND UNDER PRESSURE AND TIME ——- IT WAS COMMON SENSE TO ME THAT COAL COULD BE TRANSFORMED INTO A DIAMOND!!!!! THERE WERE JOKES REFERENCING THIS (STICK COAL UP HIS *** AND IT WILL TURN INTO A DIAMOND!)
I’M PRETTY SURE THAT EVEN SUPERMAN HAD SOME CONTRIBUTION TO THIS “COAL INTO DIAMOND”
WELL, MY COMMON SENSE THAT COAL CAN PRODUCE A DIAMOND HAS JUST RECENTLY BECAME AWARE TO ME AS 100% FALSE!!!! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR COAL TO PRODUCE A DIAMOND! EVER! —- WITHOUT GOING INTO MOLECULAR SCIENCE —- IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!
SO- That is an example of my recently updated common sense!
